All of our incense is hand-made right here at our shop. We soak
each incense stick for a minimum of 48 hours in high quality
fragrance oil. You can expect to experience SpringHouse Candles
incense to be highly fragrant, high quality, fresh and long
burning.
There are two differing types of stick incense to enjoy:
charcoal and wood punk. We make both charcoal incense and wood
punk stick incense. Each has its own unique characteristics
which make it wonderful to burn and use.
Wood punk incense is made of sawdust from machilus wood; a kind
of hardwood. The sawdust is highly absorbent and retains the
high quality fragrance oils. As you well know, incense has a
familiar smell which will take you back to memories long
forgotten. This familiar scent could bring back memories of a
tender childhood moment or a dorm room excursion, all depending
on your experiences with incense. Who can forget the smell of
patchouli wafting around on a summer day? This is just one of
the many highly fragrant oils used to load our incense with
scent. Some of the fragrance that comes off of a wood punk
stick is from the actual wood that is used in making the punk.
These wood punk incense sticks burn approximately 60 - 90
minutes.
Charcoal incense sticks are made with 100% pure charcoal. For
those who do not enjoy the traditional scent of the wood punk,
the charcoal alternative is fabulous. When you burn a charcoal
stick incense you do not smell the familiar wood punk. These
sticks burn approximately 45 - 60 minutes.
This brings us to the question of proper usage for incense
sticks. The common question is, “How do I get the most complete
burn for the longest amount of time?” The answer is simple.
First, hold the incense stick on the bamboo end. Next, with a
match or lighter, light the tip of the fragrance coated end of
the incense and allow the tip to become glowing red with heat
and flame. After you let this flame burn for a few of seconds,
extinguish the flame by blowing or fanning to reveal a red
glowing end on your incense stick. This is the indicator that
your incense stick is slowly burning and well on its way to
dispersing the highest amount of fragrance possible.
Now you get to take your lit incense and place it in your
favorite holder. Place the incense in a safe, secure place,
away from all drapes, clothes and accessories. We at
SpringHouse Candles and Scents want you to have the most
pleasurable, safe experience with our incense as possible. This
means responsibly using the highly fragrant incense to its
fullest. We know it would be wonderful to have all your clothes
smelling of this wonderful fragrance, but never burn incense
inside closets or hang anything above burning incense. Hanging
clothing above burning incense is a potential fire hazard. If
you want your clothes to smell wonderful try our
perfume oils. Please, check out
our pure perfume oils and make sure to use incense for its
intended purposes.
